This past week I participated in a leadership simulcast and one of the speakers, Christy Wright, brought up this exact tension. She was talking about the false idea of having a home life and work life. She stated we each have a life, in which we are both at home and at work. This tension is real, the approach of continuous improvement is real, also. We must find the balance that works for our individual life.

This may not be the same as your friend or other coworkers. It is very individualized. If it seems this may have some similarity with the Christian faith, I believe it does. Those of us believers are called to be like Jesus. We are called to grow toward perfection, all the while understanding we will never reach perfection in this life.

This could seem to be the card we could play to whatever we wanted If we can never achieve it, why should we ever try? We strive to be better, but when we fall short, grace covers our shortcomings.
