Ken Burnette officiating. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery. Mrs. Barker died Wednesday at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital after a long illness. A retired schoolteacher, she was a native of Jackson and a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Kinzie Barker of Jackson; a granddaughter, Jennifer Barker of Jackson; and a grandson. Brent Barker of Jackson. Pallbearers will be Charles Pate, Cotton Couch, Max England, J.T. Riddle, Walter Barnes, R.E. Bailey Dr.

Harold Yarbro and Dickie Beare. Mrs. Willie Yarbrough Services for Mrs. Willie Yarbrough, 90, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at George A.

Yarbrough, widow of Robert Yarbrough, died early this morning at her sister's Jackson home after a long illness. A lifelong resident of Madison County, she was a member of Oakfield United Methodist Church for more than 75 years. Survivors include a son, J.B. Yarbrough of the Oakfield community; a sister, Mrs. Elnora Holley of Jackson; a brother Robert M.

White of Jackson; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be Jerry Yarbrough, Randy Yarbrough, Bruce Hopper, Mike Hopper, Kenneth Stumph and Gene Cook. 6B Mrs. Nellie Hopkins HENDERSON Services for Mrs. Nellie Cawthon Hopkins will be at 11 a.m..

Sunday at Beech Spring Baptist Church in the Jacks Creek Community with the Rev. R.S. Neely officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Stephenson and Shaw Funeral Home in charge. Mrs.

Hopkins died Thursday morning at her home after a short illness. She was a Chester County native and worked as a volunteer at the Senior Citizens Center and as a van escort to the Mifflin Area. Mrs. Hopkins was president of the So and Sew Club and a member of Beech Spring Church, where she served on the Trustee Board and as treasurer and president of the Senior Usher Board. She was a daughter of Isis Zarah Court No.

51. Surviving are her husband, C.E. Hopkins; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Ann Ross and Mrs. Emma Ross, both of Henderson, Mrs.

Louise Dickey of Nashville and Mrs. Mary Ross of Akron, Ohio; two sons, Charles Edward Hopkins Jr. of Jackson and Anderson Hopkins of St. Louis; a sister, Mrs. Florence Massengill of Henderson; four brothers, Raymond Cawthon, John A.

Cawthon, Frank Cawthon and Dan Cawthon, all of Henderson. The family will receive friends at the Jackson funeral home from 7-9 p.m. Saturday and the Zarah Court No. 51 daughters of Isis will perform. The body will be at Beech Spring Church after 9 a.m.

Sunday. Billy Joe Forrest Services for Billy Joe Forrest, 47, formerly of Madison County, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Browns Creek Baptist Church in Haywood County with the Rev. J.V. Carney officiating.

Burial will be in Browns Creek Cemetery with Stephenso and Shaw Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Forrest died Sunday in Gary, Ind. He was a Madison County native and a member of Browns Creek Church. He was the husband of the late Callie Mae Miller Forrest.

Surviving are a son, Billy Joe Forrest Jr. of Brownsville; five daughters, Miss Gwendolyn Forrest, Miss Diane Forrest, Miss Sharon Forrest, Miss Marion Forrest and Miss Betty Forrest, all of Brownsville; his parents, Z. A. Forrest and Annie Forrest, both of Brownsville; two brothers, John Forrest of Jackson and Willie Forrest of Chicago; three sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Shaw, Mrs.

Nina Hosh and Mrs. Gladys Farley, all of Gary, Ind. Mrs. Alice Cole TRENTON Services for Mrs. Alice Milligan Cole, 83, were Thursday at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev.

D.F. Dickey officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery. Mrs. Cole died Tuesday afternoon at Memorial Hospital.

She was a Trenton native and widow of Hershal Cole. She was a member of Olive Branch Methodist Church, where she was a choir member 70 years and alternate pianist. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Marilyn Page of St. Louis; a brother, O.B.

Milligan of Trenton; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Lloyd Meeks TRENTON Services for Edward Lloyd Meeks, 78, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. Hershel Lee officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.

Mr. Meeks died Thursday night at his home after a short illness. He was a retired employee of Trenton Cotton Mill and a member of Westside Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons, Harvey Meeks of Clarksville, and William Meeks of Trenton; andfour grandchildren. Mrs.

Ma Dellar Perry WHITEVILLE Services for Mrs. Ma Dellar Perry, 95, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Clover Garden Methodist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Rawls Funeral Home in charge. Mrs.

Perry died Monday at Care Inn Nursing Home in Bolivar. Mrs. Heather Harrison Services for Mrs. Heather Harrison, 69, formerly of Jackson, will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Grand Rapids, with Brown's Funeral Home in charge.

Other arrangements are incomplete. Mrs. Harrison died Thursday in Grand Rapids after a short illness. Surviving are her husband, Clarence Harrison; five daughters, Mrs. Jessie Moore, Mrs.

Cleaster Newsom and Mrs. Leona Husley, all of Jackson, Mrs. Maxme Comer and Mrs. Edna Comer, both of Grand Rapids; a son, Windell Harrison of Grand Rapids; a brother, Hubert Marshall of Kankakee, 111. and a sister, Mrs.

No report had been filed this morning on an investigation of the fire that apparently killed the nephew of entertainer Carl Perkins Thursday morning, authorities said today. Jerry L. Perkins, 28, died when a fire ignited in the living room of the apartment at 875 N. Royal about 6 a.m., said James Randolph, city, assistant fire chief.

Police listed the victim's address as 1039 Campbell St. Services for Mr. Perkins will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home South Chapel with the Rev.

Michael A. Byrum, 23, of Bolivar told police he was driving from Pan-cho's parking lot on Old Hickory Boulevard Thursday afternoon when another vehicle came from the Hamilton Hills Shopping Center lot and struck the right rear of his vehicle. Byrum describe the hit-and-run vehicle as a late model midsize blue car with white top.

The Western Auto Store at 109 E. Lafayette St. was reported burglarized early. today. Police said a window on the south side of the building was broken, and a piece of angle iron was found lying in a display window.

Reported missing was a Truetone brand black-and-white portable television valued at about $160. Myrtle Peterson and her daughter, Rose Lee Dickerson, reported to police that someone entered the Peterson home at 121 Rhea and took their billfolds one containing $83 and the other, $175. Mrs. Peterson told police she and her husband, Earl, were at home at the time of the break-in, heard noises in a bedroom and later discovered the billfolds missing from underneath a bed pillow. The empty wallets were found by Peterson in the backyard.

Virginia Golden of 112 Dempster reported to police that her car was broken into early today while it was parked and locked in the Lincoln Courts area. She reported missing from the car a green First National Bank bag containing two blank personal checks; a light grey checkbook belonging to Union Local 461; and a .32 or revolver and $15 or $20. Phillip Dennison of 157 Wilkinson told police Thursday someone entered his apartment at Alexander Elementary School between 14:30 p.m. and took a Sparta brand electric alarm clock valued at $18. Gordon Kelly of 238 Lindsey told police Thursday that someone stole his tri-fold, black leather wallet, containing a drivers license but no money, from his car parked at his home.

Seven-year-old Jackie Crews of 125 Gates reported to police that her 20-inch, green and white unknown brand bicycle was stolen while it was parked Thursday in front of the Super Save Store on Hays Avenue. Debra Freeland of 131 Skyhaven Drive told officers of the Madison County Sheriffs Department that someone took four wire wheelcovers from her car between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Thursday while it was parked in Rockwell International plant's parking lot. The car's dash was also damaged in an apparent attempt to remove an in-dash radio.

Mr. Perkins' body was found in a bedroom down the hall from where the fire was, Randolph said, but noted, although the fire was confined to the living room, the entire apartment was filled with smoke. Dr. Thomas K. Ballard, Madison County medical examiner, said smoke inhalation appeared to be the cause of death.

Jackson police said an autopsy has been ordered. Randolph said the investigation was turned over to the Metro Arson Squad. He said he had a "fair idea" of the cause of the fire, but was not willing to speculate on the cause. Officers said she is accused of letting friends take items through her checkout line at Wal-Mart Discount City in the North Plaza, where was employed. Mrs. McFadden was dead on arrival at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital Monday after a long illness. She was born in Mason, and later moved to Chicago, where she attended public school. She was married to the late James Bell, and later married Marshall L. McFadden, who survives She was a member of St.

Paul Missionary Baptist Church, and later of Medon CME Church, where she served as president and treasurer of Stewardess Board No. 1 and as president and treasurer of the Missionary Society. She was also a member of Mary Beth-ume Chapter No. 102 OES and of the Sister's Aid Society. Surviving in addition to Mr.

McFadden are a daughter, Mrs. Lavera Armstrong of South Bend, and four great-grandchildren. Active pallbearers will be McElree Mosley, James Theus, Lotdell Love, George Love, William Neely and Floyd Greer. Honorary pallbearers are grandsons and stewards of Medon CME Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-8 p.m.

today. Ray Jones ALAMO Services for Ray Wilson Jones, 49, Alamo chief of police, were today at Ronk Funeral Home with Fred House officiating. Burial was in Alamo Cemetery. Mr. Jones, police chief for the past nine years, died late Wednesday night at Jackson-Madison County General after apparently suffering a heart attack earlier while patrolling.

Crockett County Sheriff Neal Klyce said Jones was alone at the time and his car ran off the road on South Bells Street, striking a trailer on an old tractor lot, doing little damage to either the car or trailer. The sheriff said an ambulance was called immediately. "I've known Ray all my life," he said. "He was a mighty good man." He was a native of Crockett County and was a member of First Christian Church. He was a veteran of the Korean War.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Rose Evelyn Jones two sons, David Jones of Bells and Jeff Jones of Alamo; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cebia Jones of Alamo; a brother, Joe Don Jones of Bells. Raymond E.

Wiley SARDIS Services for Raymond E. Wiley. 58. were today at Sardis Senior Citizens Building with the Rev. Wayne Burton officiating.

Burial was to be in Sardis Cemetery with Pafford Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Wiley was dead on arrival Wednesday afternoon at Lexington-Henderson County General Hospital, apparently from a heart attack. He was retired from Sardis Variety Store. Surviving are his wife, Mrs.

Grenade kills Iran clergyman BEIRUT, Lebanon (AP) A grenade carried by an assassin exploded in a worshipper-filled square in the Iranian city of Tabriz Friday, killing an ayatol-lah and wounding several other people, the official Iranian news agency Pars said. The assassin also died, Pars said. The news agency reported: "An unidentified man, fastening a grenade around his waist, approached the ayatollah pretending he wanted to ask a question. Suddenly the grenade exploded, severely wounding the Friday prayer leader and other worshippers. Ayatollah (Assadollah) Madan was immediately taken to a hospital but was martyred while undergoing surgery.

The terrorist was killed on the spot." Madani, a fiery orator who was leading Friday Sabbath prayers when he was attacked, was a top aide to Iran's revolutionary patriarch Ayatollah Ru-hollah Khomeini and the latest to die in a wave of assassinations. Mrs. Bettie Gates MILAN Mrs. Bettie Liles Gates, 89, died this morning at Ridgewood Retirement Inn after a long illness. Arrangements are incomplete with Bodkin Funeral Home in charge.

She was a Carroll County native and moved to Milan several years ago. She was a Methodist. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Marie Brinkley of Jackson, Mrs. Lucille Manning and Mrs.

Frances Gas-kins, both of Milan, Mrs. Lorene McA-lexander of the Spring Creek Community and Mrs. Dorothy Collins of Memphis; 26 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Jimmy Tidwell SAVANNAH Services for Jimmy Neill Tidwell, 49, will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Shackelford Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Graham Cemetery. Mr. Tidwell died Thursday at St. Joseph Hospital near St. Louis.

He was a maintenance worker for Fort Zumwalt Schools. He was a Hardin County native. Surviving are two sons, Ricky Tidwell and Ronnie Tidwell, both of O'Fal-lon, Mo. his parents, Mr. and Mrs, Bill Tidwell of Savannah; two brothers, Pete Tidwell of Savannah and Billy Tidwell Jr.

Selvah Stewart BROWNSVILLE Services for Sel-ven Stewart, 52, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Brownsville Community Baptist Church with the Rev. L.E. McCall officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery with Rawls Funeral Home in charge.

Mr. Stewart died Sunday morning at his home, apparently from a heart attack. He was a Brownsville native and a Korean War veteran. He was a farmer and a member of Brownsville Community Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs.

Lessie Stewart; three brothers, J.B. Stewart of Mason, L.T. Stewart and Jesse Stewart both of Nashville; three sisters, Mrs. Eula Taylor and Mrs. Ruby Taylor, both of Brownsville, and Mrs.

Evelyn Jeanerette of Nashville. Mose Matthews BROWNSVILLE Services for Mose Matthews, 64, will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Hickory Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. E.V. Jones officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery with Rawls Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Matthews died Monday at City of Memphis Hospital after a long illness. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Sarah Mae Yarbro Matthews.
