Nanney, 20, of 103 Alice Friday night and charged him with assault and battery of Steve Payne, 25, no address given. Payne is to be charged with disorderly conduct after his release from Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, the police report said.

Officers reported they found Payne walking around A Cafe Lounge, 101 Union with several injuries; his right nostril and part of his ear had apparently been bitten off. Police found Nanney hiding in the women's restroom. Questioning revealed the men had been fighting about a pool game. Osa Barnett, of a Towers Motor Inn address, reported his 1972 Mercury Cougar was stolen Friday night at Bar-K Lounge, 795 S. Highland Ave.

In a separate incident, employees of Watson and Jones Motors 1089 S. Highland, reported a 1977 yellow Chevrolet Malibu Landau stolen from the business Friday. The $3,000, two-door car had a black vinyl top and black interior. Police arrested Douglas Anderson, 36, of Pinson, Friday near Jackson Skate Center, 34 Rebel Road, and charged him with carrying a deadly weapon. Witnesses told police Anderson approached a couple in their car with a gun in his pocket and then put the weapon into his truck.

Anderson denied having the gun out of the truck. Officers found the gun in the truck and ammunition in Anderson's pocket, the report said. Someone broke into the Jackson Coliseum by breaking a window Friday night and stole clothes and other items including a $200 wedding ring belonging to five Jackson Central-Merry High School football players. Gwendolyn Hunter, of 635 N. Royal reported Friday an intruder at her house stole a 19-inch General Electric color TV valued at $500 and a Panasonic AM-FM digital clock radio worth $34.

Someone broke into Regency Inn, 1330 N. Highland, and stole $300 and a watch belonging to Thomas Eugene 75 escapee returned to The Madison County Sheriffs Department has returned a 29-year-old Jack-sonian, who escaped from county jail about five years ago, to the facility Saturday. Inc. parking lot, 240 Preston St. Sherrell Pittman, of 49 Colorado reported a 14-karat white gold ring with a diamond chip and a matching wedding band stolen from her home Friday.

A red, Schwinn Phantom boy's bicycle valued at $130 was stolen from the home of Suzanne Latham, of 531 Westwood she reported Friday. Someone forced open a window at Colonial Baking 603 S. Royal Friday night and forced open all the file cabinets and desk drawers, but nothing was apparently missing, police reported.
