and Mrs. James H. Jaco II, Dyersburg. His grandparents are Mr and Mrs. Johnnie Smithson, Sherman, Texas, and Margaret Jaco, Jackson, and the late James H' Jaco He is a 1982 graduate of Dyersburg High School.

He also attended Dyersburg State Community College, where he studied business administration and computer science. She is a registration administrator for Morgan, Keegan Company, Inc.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Harris Harvey Jackson. His grandparents are Mrs. Lowrey Lewis Pearson and the late Lowrey Lewis Pearson and Mrs.

Hugh Smith Harvey and the late Hugh Smith Harvey, all of Jackson. He is a 1975 graduate of North Elizabeth Sheppard, Mark Hurley Elizabeth Arnold Sheppard, Jackson, and Mark Nolan Hurley, Chicago, will marry at 5 p.m. June 7 at First Presbyterian Church, Jackson. The bride is the daughter of Swearengen Sheppard and Dr. Lee Calvin Sheppard both of Jackson.

Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Mark Twain Swearengen, Monroe City, and Dr. and Mrs. I Lee Calvin Sheppard Rockford, Ill.

She is a 1980 graduate of Jackson Central-Merry High School. She received a bachelor of arts degree in English in 1984 from Rhodes College and a master of arts degree in English in 1986 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. At Rhodes, she was a Southwestern Scholar, a student assistant to British Studies at Oxford, Panhellenic president and a member of Chi Omega sorority. At the University of North Carolina, she was managing editor of the Carolina Quarterly. The bridegroom is the son of Mr.

and Mrs. George Hurley, Little Rock, Ark. Tammy Thompson, Francisco Vega Tammy Darlene Thompson, Memphis, and Francisco T. Vega, Southaven, will marry at 3 p.m. June 7 at 4450 Knight Arnold in Memphis.

The bride is the daughter of Lana Thompson, Memphis, and Rex Thompson Twin Falls, Idaho. Her grandparents are Mrs. Cordie Wilson, Southaven, and Mr. and Mrs. Rex A.

Thompson Filer, Idaho. She is a 1984 graduate of Sheffield High School and she attends Union University, where she is studying social work. She is president of Pi Kappa Delta speech fraternity at Union. The bridegroom is the son of Barbara J. Vega, Southaven, and the late Francisco T.

in Vega Sr. His grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Shields, Southaven, and Mr. and Mrs.

Tom Vega, Flagstaff, Ariz. He is a 1982 graduate of Southaven High School and he attends Union University, where he is studying religion. He is youth minister at First Baptist Church Members of the Jackson-Madison County Retired Teachers' Association met recently and announced new officers for their 1986-87 year. Officers are Samuel Beasley, president; Louise Oakley, vice president; Sarah Pechonick, secretary; and Pansy Gowan, treasurer. The association was the guest of Lambuth College, First American National Bank, Fidelity Federal Savings and Loan, Jackson National Bank, Union Planters National Bank and the JacksonMadison County Teachers' Credit Union, who sponsored the luncheon meeting.

Nan Reid and members of the Casey Jones Barbershop Singers entertained the group. The next meeting will be at 2 p.m. May 15 at West Jackson Baptist Church at 259 West Deaderick. Tanya Israel, bride of Mike Piano students plan recitals Sandra Goodwin will present her piano students in recitals today and May 10. Today's recital will include Mrs.

Goodwin's students from South- side School in Reagan. The program will be at 7:30 p.m. at the school. Admission is free. Mrs. Goodwin's students will also present a recital at 7:30 p.m. May 10 at Jacks Creek School. Admission is free.
