James Cooke officiated. The bride is the daughter of Carl Sutton and Alicia Hazlehurst Ragsdale of Jacksonville. Her grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. George E.

Hazlehurst Sr. of Jackson. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Ray Alford of Lynchburg, Va.

Maids of honor were the bride's sisters, Ann Battle Ragsdale of Miami and Eliza Robinson Ragsdale of Jacksonville. The bridegroom's father was best man. Bridesmaids were the bridegroom's sister, Mrs. Richard Carrington of Lynchburg, the bridegroom's sister-in-law, Mrs. John Alford of Richmond, Carolyn Clark of Greensboro, Liza Hill of Chicago, Tifany Miller of Raleigh, N.C., Mrs.

Walter Nesbit of Atlanta and Caroline Robinson of Morehead City. Groomsmen were the bridegroom's brother, John Alford Stewart Roddey and Paul Sheehy, all of Richmond, the bridegroom's brother-in-law, Richard Carrington IV of Lynchburg, Wil- Jeffrey Cole, Floy Wigal Floy Elizabeth Wigal of Jackson and Dr. Robert Jeffrey Cole of Chattanooga were married Dec. 2 in an evening ceremony at First Presbyterian Church in Jackson. The Rev.

James Irwin Jr. of Jackson officiated. The couple's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Jack Cole of Southaven, Peggy Sewell Wigal of Jackson, the late Voorhis Frederick Wigal.

The bride wore a satin gown of rachelle lace, iridescent sequins and pearls. It featured a fitted bodice, sabrina neckline and long sleeves with satin puffs at the shoulder that tapering into petal points at the hand. The full, gathered skirt flowed into a cathe-. dral-length train edged with beaded lace. She wore a juliet cap with matching beaded lace and a two-tiered fingertip illusion veil.

She carried calla lillies. Maid of honor was Mary Louise Erb of Nashville. The bridegroom's father was best man. Bridesmaids were Lucille Hap-pel Alexander, Mary Ester Hornsby, Catherine Harper House, Carol Ruth Scott, Margaret Louis Sheppard of Jackson, Janet Marie Cole of Southaven, Lynn Marie Tanzberger of Kenner, and Amy Fay West of Shaker Heights, Ohio. Samuel Freeman, Lisa Anderson Lisa Gail Anderson of Lake Worth, formerly of Jackson, and Samuel Wesley Freeman of Lake Worth were married July 16 in a morning ceremony at Bride's Corner in Lake Worth.

Justice of the Peace J. Sam Johnson of Lake Worth officiated. The couple's parents are Robert and Nancy Anderson and Wesley Freeman and Etheleen Collins, all of Jackson. The bride wore a cream silk-satin dress with a cut-out lace coat of pink and cream tulips. She carried a bouquet of long-stem "Lady Di" roses.

and Mrs. George Gaskins of Milan, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Butler of Trezevant and the late Betty Brown Butler. The bride wore a satin gown of beaded Alencon lace.

It featured a sabrina neckline and a fitted, basque bodice enhanced with iridescent sequins and pearls. The leg-o-mutton sleeves were accented with lace cut-out appliques and the full skirt was edged with lace. A large bow in the back was centered above a cathedral length train. She carried a cascade of peach roses, gardenias and stephanotis. Matron of honor was Diana Gray of Berea, Ohio, and maid of honor was Lori Greene of Milan.

Greg McClain of Trezevant was best man. Bridesmaids were Shelley Adkins of Milan and Teresa Climer of Humboldt. Groomsmen Jack Vinson, Lisa Nolen Lisa Nolen of Alamo and Jack Vinson of Adams ville were married Nov. 4 in an evening ceremony at First Baptist Church at 154 W. Church St.

in Alamo. Dr. Jerry Barker of Alamo officiated. The couple's parents are Mr. and Mrs.

Bobby Nolen of Alamo and. Mr. and Mrs. Billy Vinson of Adamsville and the late Jane Hinton Vinson. The bride wore a gown with Alencon lace, a fitted bodice and Queen Anne neckline and short, puffed sleeves of lace accented with a bow.

The dropped waist held a full skirt and chapel-length organza train edged with Alencon lice. She carried a cascade of white roses and stephanotis. Matron of honor was the bride's sister-in-law, Cindy Jordan of Gates. The bridegroom's son, Chris Vinson was best man. Bridesmaids were Kim Nolen of Jackson.

The couple's parents are Mr. GATHERINGS Eta Chapter hears Story league's birth Jackson Story League President Ginger Fiorvanti spoke about the origins of the National Story League when the Eta Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa met recently. Fiorvanti told the group storytelling helps increase vocabulary, lengthens attention span and teaches values.

Members planned to send a donation to the AKD members in South Carolina who requested aid with educational materials. The next meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Jan. 23 at Lambuth College Colonial Room. The meeting will be held jointly with the Alpha Tau Chapter.

Helping Hand Club get tips for holidays Members of the Brownsville Helping Hand Club met recently in the home of Lonnie Joe Tucker and received makeup tips for the holidays from Mary Kay Cosmetics representative Lucy Tucker. The club voted to make a donation to the United Negro College Fund Telethon to be broadcast Dec. 30. The group made plans for a Christmas social. Alpha Delta Kappas hear book review Mary D.

Matthews presented a book review on "My Life Without God" by William J. Murray to the Fidelis Alpha Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa Education Sorority, when they met recently. Matthews talked about Murray's life as the son of political activist Madelyn Murray O'Hare, whose lawsuit led to the ban of prayer and Bible reading in public schools. Irene Bishop was welcomed as a new member. Mallie Newsom reported on the delivery of food for Thanksgiving dinner to Mrs.
