A native and life-long resident of Jackson and Madison County, he was the son of Charlie McCory, Sr. and the late Geneva Moore McCory. Mr. McCory was a forty year employee of the Jackson Country Club having served in various positions.

He was an original member of the Heaven Bound Junior Gospel Singing Group having been together for forty-two years. Once a month, for the past ten years, he had traveled to the Gardner's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church in East Tennessee to assist in services. He is survived by his father, Charlie McCory, Sr. of Jackson; four sons, Atrell McCory of Chillicothe, OH, Rickey McCory, Donald Wayne McCory and Charlie McCory, IlI, all of Jackson; two daughters, Lori Harris of Henderson, TN and Cotina Epps of Sumter, SC; a brother, Joe Willie McCory of Jackson; a sister, Bobbie Jean Atwater of Jackson and sixteen grandchildren. Deaths Elsewhere Steve Ettleson, 56 LOS ANGELES Drummer Steve Ettleson, who played for Mel Torme, Ella Fitzgerald, Pearl Bailey and Juliet Prowse, died Friday of injuries sustained when he was struck by a car. Grant former president and chairman of the Reynolds and Reynolds died Tuesday after a brief illness. He was 88. Grant maintained a residence in Florida and had homes in Dayton, Ohio, and in Essex, Conn.
