REID The Associated Press BAGHDAD, Iraq Gunmen kidnapped a senior Interior Ministry official in the heart of the Iraqi capital Wednesday, and the U.S. military reported that five more American soldiers had been killed. The latest violence came as Iraqi politicians intensified talks to try to meet a Monday deadline for finalizing a constitution.

She was born and raised in Ladysmith, Wisconsin, the daughter of Lawrence Melvin and Cecilia Marie Recore Harris, both of whom preceded her in death. She was a 1958, graduate of Ladysmith High School and was inducted into the United States Air Force, rising to the rank of Airman 3rd Class, she was honorably discharged. She was united in marriage to Jerry Lee Wheeler on October 8, 1966 in Madison, Indiana. She had resided in the Madison Community the past 39 years.

She was employed for the past 25 years as a psychiatric attendant at the Madison State Hospital. She was an avid reader, loved to share her favorite mysteries with her dear friends, she collected Polish pottery, angels, loved to travel overseas and especially enjoyed Paris, Austria and Germany. She was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband, Jerry L. Wheeler of Hanover, IN, to whom she was married October 8, 1966; one daughter, Cassandra Lee Flanigan and her husband, William of Jackson; three sons, Jerry Wayne Wheeler of Madison, IN, James Lawrence Sanford of Decatur, GA, Lonnie Charles Sanford of Georgia; two sisters, Colleen Gloria Cobb of Hanover, IN, Patricia Ann Johnson and her husband, Eugene of Mesa, AZ, two brothers, Donald Allen Harris and his wife, Alice of North Carolina, Spencer Tracy "Joey" Harris of North Carolina, five grandchildren, Meghan Caley Flanigan, William Brodie Flanigan, Colby, Shelby and Ashley Sanford, several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
