MELTON Born February 10, 1893 Died March 26, 1983 On December 19, 1912 he married Myrtle May Ross. To this union was born two boys and one girl. He was a Methodist, and leader for the Rosebuds Quartet at Rosewood Gardens for several years. A good neighbor, willing to help all that he could. He loved singing and music.

One of his favorite songs, When Wake Up To Sleep No More' was sung at the funeral services. UTM offers to screen preschoolers for delayed development DRESDEN The University of Tennessee at Martin will offer Child-Find screening and casefinding services for Weakley County preschoolers from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at the Weakley County Health Department here.

The free service, used for the early identification of children from newborns through age 4 who may be developmentally delayed in normal growth, also will be offered the first Monday in May and June at the health department. Staff members of UTM's Infant Stimulation 1 Program, sponsored by the Department of Home Economics, will conduct the services at the health department. ADVERTISEMENT Hearing Tests Set For Senior Citizens JACKSON Electronic hearing tests will be given at the Beltone Hearing Aid Service office on Monday and Tuesday from 9 AM to 5 PM. Factory-trained Hearing Aid Specialists will be at our office at 14 Locust Lane, Jackson, to perform the tests. Anyone who has trouble hearing is welcome to have a test using modern electronic equipment to determine if his loss is one which may be helped. Some of the causes of hearing loss will be explained, and diagrams of how the ear works will be shown. Everyone should have a hearing test at least once a year if there is any trouble at all hearing clearly.

Even people now wearing a hearing aid or those who have been told nothing could be done for them should have a hearing test and find out if they are one of the many a hearing aid can help. The free hearing tests will be given Monday and Tuesday from 9 AM to 5 PM at 14 Locust Lane, Jackson. To avoid waiting, call for an appointment. Friday at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital following a short illness. He was a Chester County native and a member of Palestine Church. He was a retired employee of Western Mental Health Institute in Bolivar and had dealt in scrap metal since his retirement. He leaves five sons, Thurman Rowland, Gaylon Rowland, Jackie Rowland and Loyd Rowland, all of Bethel Springs, and Ronnie Rowland of Finger; a daughter, Mrs. R.C.

Burkeen of Henderson; four brothers, Burl and Drew Rowland, both of Henderson, Romas Rowland of Selmer, and Marvin Rowland of Hornsby; five sisters, Mrs. Margaret Capps of Pinson, Mrs. Clara Arnold of Memphis, Mrs. Joyce Whitman of Selmer, Mrs. Ruth Tolbert of Bethel Springs, and Mrs.

John Henry Tune SAVANNAH- Services for John Henry Tune, 77, were Saturday at Shackelford Funeral Home. The Revs. Virgil Gean and Steve Bain officiated.

Burial was in Bumpus Creek Cemetery in Lauderdale County, Ala. Mr. Tune, a retired sawmill worker and livestock dealer, died Thursday at Northeast Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo after about a four-month illness. The names of survivors were unavailable but he leaves 12 daughters, four sons, a brother, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Copyright Service Merchandise 1983 N465 Graveside services for Willie Penn Chandler, 80, were held Wednesday at Memorial Cemetery in Leesburg, Fla. Mr. Chandler, a retired orange grader for a fruit farm, died Tuesday morning at Leesburg Regional Hospital after a long illness. He was a Gibson County native, lived several years in Humboldt and had been in Leesburg the past 40 years. Surviving are a son, Oneal Chandier of Penney Farms, three grandsons, Robert Chandler and Greg Chandler, both of Penney Farms, and Scott Chandler, stationed with the Marine Corps in Millington; and two sisters, Mrs.

Bessie Cathey of Jackson and Mrs. Sophia Cathey of Oakfield. lley Averett HUNTINGDON Services for Iley P. Averett, 81, were Saturday at Huntingdon Church of Christ with Warder K. Novak officiating.

Burial will be in Carroll County Memorial Gardens with Dilday Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Averett, a retired farmer, died Thursday night at his home after an apparent heart attack. He served in the Army, farmed many years in Kennett, and moved to Memphis in 1959 where he worked for Admiral Benbow Inn until retiring in 1970. He then moved to Huntingdon.

Mr. Averett had been married 58 years to the former Ruth Presley, who survives. He was a member of Huntingdon Church of Christ. Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Betty Shelly of Kennett, Mrs.

Geneva Tidwell of Winter Haven, and Mrs. Bobby Russom of Springfield, two sons, Max Ray Averett of Kennett and Jerry Wayne Averett of Nesbit, four sisters, Mrs. Flossie Woods of Gleason, Mrs. Icie Gant of Saltillo, Mrs. Nell Pruitt of Lexington, and Mrs.
