P. Vandiver officiating. Burial will follow in Bear Creek Cemetery in Pinson. Mrs. Capps died at her home Saturday morning after a sudden illness.

She was born and reared in the Palestine Community of Chester County. She is the daughter of the late Tom Newton and Annie Allison Rowland. She attended schools in Chester County and in 1936 she was married to William Vernon Capps, also of the Palestine Community, who died in 1992. They made their home in the Palestine Community until 1955 when they moved to the Pinson area, there Mr. Capps farmed and Mrs.

Capps was a homemaker. She was a member of Pinson Baptist Church. She Is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Wray, and Cindy Leach; two sons, Jimmy Capps and Danny Capps all of Pinson. She was also preceded in death by one son Michael Capps who died in 1962; four sisters, Clara Arnold of Memphis, Joyce Whitman of Selmer, Ruth Tolbert of Bethel Springs and Reba Cupples of Henderson; two brothers, Burl Rowland and Drew Rowland both of Henderson; seven grandchildren, Renee Wray, Tammy Wray, Stacy Vinson, Kathy Walker, Sara Capps, Allison Capps and Rachel Leach; one step-great grandchild, Ashley Vinson. Virgie L. Wilson Mrs. Virgie L. Wilson, age 84, died Friday afternoon at her home. Funeral services will be Monday at 2p.m.

Her husband, Walter B. Wilson, died in 1962. She was Baptist in belief. Survivors include three sons; Rodney Wilson and wife Frances of Jackson, Bruce Wilson and wife Patricia of Jackson, and Milton Wilson and wife Peggy of Pinson; one daughter Miriam and husband Donald Hovis of Kennesaw, one sister, Mrs. Katie Starr of Memphis and two brothers; Troy Brawner and Modie Brawner both of Corinth, fifteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchlldren.

She had three sisters, Faye Cooksey of Milledgeville, Hazel Davis of Sardis and McNeva Holt of Milledgeville.

She had five brothers, Cleatus Smith of Sardis, Gene Smith of Henderson, Frank Smith of Milledgeville, Gerald Smith of Selmer and Glynn Smith of Adamsville.
