Sammy Britt, who is running for Madison County sheriff against incumbent Warren Roberts, was elected as conductor on the state executive board of the Fraternal Order of Police during the organizatiion's state convention May 3-5. Britt, an officer for the state FOP Lodge, attended the convention in Monteagle, near Chattanooga, with several other delegates from the Charles W. Wooten Lodge in Jackson. During the convention, the 148 delegates voted to endorse Britt for sheriff.
