Boone died Monday morning at Humboldt Nursing Home. Miss Boone was born in Bradford, Tennessee on December 18, 1895, the daughter of the late Nancy Watson Boone and Charles Horace Boone. She lived her childhood in Trenton, Tennessee. She was educated at West Tennessee Normal School for Teachers (Memphis State University), going there at age 14 and was the last living graduate of that institution. She continued her education at George Pea-body College in Nashville, receiving her B.S.

and her M.S. degrees at Columbia University in New York. She taught school in both the Shelby County and Memphis City School Systems for more than forty years and later made her home in the Parkview Hotel. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Memphis, a member of the American Association of University Women, the Kappa Lambda Sigma Literary Society, the Shakespeare Society and the 19th Century Club. Two brothers, Robert Frank Boone and Charles Atkins Boone, preceded her in death.

She leaves a niece, Nancy Boone Pearson of Jackson; another niece, Sara Boone Lang- ston of Pensacola, Fl. and a nephew, William R. Boone of Trenton. Calvin Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens with military graveside services. Mr. Simpson died Monday morning at Jackson Madison County General Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Sullivan, Indiana, son of the late Oren and LaDoshia Cobb Simpson.

He was reared and attended school in Chicago, Illinois and had lived in Jackson for the past thirty years. He was formerly a groundsman for the Tennessee Valley Authority and past owner of the Pixie Lounge. He served in the United States Navy for six years. He was a Baptist in belief and a member of Post 90 of the American Legion. He is survived bv his wife, Barbara Ann Allen Simpson; two sons, Shane Simpson and Joe King; two daughters, Debra (Bird) Cronin and Deana Whitney and four grandchildren all of Jackson.

Pallbearers to serve will be Joe Mars, Roy Grace, Gary Knupp, James Kirkpatrick, Mutt Carver and Pete Belew. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 5 to 9 p.m. His wife wishes to thank Doctors Jere Hammond and John Kendall for all their kindness. Air Force, having served in Japan and on Okinawa and was a retired business owner. He was a disabled veteran and a member of the American Legion and a DAV Lifemember. He was a member of the Corinth Baptist Church and an ordained Deacon. He is survived by his wife, Mary Kay Hendrix; two daughter, Shelia Marlin of Wildersville and Anita Gilbert of Chesterfield; a son, Ronnie Hendrix of Lexington; four sisters, Mildred Sanders of Kingston, Bessie Mae Sharp and Sarah Choate both of Linden and Lois Reeves of Lexington and seven grandchildren. Evans, 60, died Monday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center after an 18-month bout with prostate cancer, family members said. Evans had been hospitalized for a week before his death. Mrs. Elam died Saturday morning at her home in Lavinia, Tennessee. She was born in Carroll County, the daughter of the late Woodie and Addie Frame Smith and attended the public schools of Carroll County. She lived in Chicago until returning to Carroll County in 1981. Mrs.

Elam was a member of Little Grove Baptist Church, where she served on the Usher Board. Survivors are a step-son, John E. Smith of Chicago, a sister, Mrs. Saddie Oden (Sam) of Lavinia; a brother, Zelner Smith of Kirkwood, Mo. and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

The body will be at the funeral home in Milan until 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at which time she will be carried to the church.
