The message was that the farmers want the higher prices in the form of guarantees from the federal government by next Wednesday or they will refuse to plant crops or buy equipment. American Agriculture, the grassroots farm organization spawned in Springfield, which claims one million members, said it has demonstrations planned in every state capitol and Washington, D.C., for Saturday to explain its pari-ty-or-strike ultimatum. The state education office "cannot recommend approval of waivers for oversized classes for lack of classroom space when there is a way to provide it," Mur-daugh's letter concludes. He said it was hoped that results of the survey would generate more funds through the National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism. He also said materials from the survey will be compiled into a study document that will be made available to other interested agencies. Swink noted that Lane College officials are interested in setting up an alcohol counseling program as part of the college's educational offerings.
